Summer is just months away so I’ve been tryna’ keep that booty in check. I’ve been searching for lighter options throughout the week to balance out all the heavy meals and liquid calories I consume over the weekends. I recently discovered a cute little café tucked away on Moon Street in Wan Chai serving delicious Mediterranean-inspired vegetarian food called Maya Café. Focused on promoting a healthy lifestyle, Maya Café aims is to create delicious dishes using raw, natural, and organic ingredients.
The menu consists of a plethora of fresh juices, tasty appetizers, intriguing mains, and tempting desserts. Lunch sets are also available from Mondays to Fridays for $128 HKD or $16 USD inclusive of soup or salad, a main course and a dessert or beverage. Maya Café’s menu is also extremely comprehensive listing out each dish’s nutritional value by breaking down the exact sources of vitamins and minerals in each item. A friend decided to hit up Maya Café and try the 3-course lunch sets. I’m definitely not about that vegan life, but something to try out anyways given how questionable the food system is around the world. Everything was mad tasty and surprisingly filling.

The Celebration is a blend of apple, pumpkin, and cinnamon. I loved this sweet spiced juice, rich in antioxidants, beta carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E. Cinnamon is also added to keep blood sugar levels in check, cue word INSULIN SENSITIVITY.

Clik here to view.Raspberry Chia Cream – I’ve attempted making chia cream on a few occasions, but it always turns out to be runny and gloppy. Maya Café has managed to perfect chia cream. I loved the tartness from the berries and hints of coconut from the cream.
